The 11 apps, in order of features

Three Wearton screens: today's outfit for the weather, the closet with cost per wear, and a new piece with its colour match

Wearton

From one selfie the app finds your colour season, undertone and palette, and Hooky, the chat stylist, uses them with your closet, the body type you set and your calendar. The look check scores a photo of your outfit from 0 to 100 with up to 3 notes.

Three Beauty AI screens: a closet grid with prices, Beauty Lens results for trousers, and an outfit planner for the week

Beauty AI

You set up a style profile, choose an occasion, and the AI builds a look from your clothes for the weather. It scores outfit photos with notes on colour and proportion, and Beauty Lens finds similar clothes online from a picture.

Three Style DNA screens: adding your own clothes by text search, photo library or camera, a T-shirt with a 100% match and pieces from your closet that go with it, and a personal shop

Style DNA

One selfie gives your colour season (1 of 12), body type and style type, and the AI uses them for 5 daily outfits from your clothes. The chatbot answers questions such as what to wear to a wedding, and a photo of a shop piece shows whether it suits you. The palette and the body type guide are also sold as a one-time purchase.

Three Cladwell screens: the closet, today's outfit with the weather, and a Deep Autumn colour palette

Cladwell

A style quiz gives your Style Map, and the maker's website says one daylight photo sets your colour palette. Ask Cladwell is a chat about what to wear, pack or style, and the stylist can name a missing piece for your shopping list.

Three Acloset screens: an outfit you style yourself, outfit ideas from the AI stylist with the weather, and import from online shops

Acloset

The AI stylist chat answers questions such as "does this match?" and picks outfits for the weather, the occasion and your schedule. It also analyses which colours and silhouettes suit you, and Try On shows the clothes on an avatar made from your photo.

Three Nouva screens: a jacket with its tags, an outfit for the weather, and a shopping feed

Nouva

The AI builds outfits from your closet for the occasion and the weather and scores each one for colour harmony. Style Check scores a mirror selfie out of 100, and Shop Scan says GET IT or SKIP IT for a piece in a shop.

Three Fits screens: a closet grid, an outfit on a canvas, and an outfit calendar

Fits

The AI stylist chat suggests outfits from your closet for the occasion and the weather, and it can also suggest products when you ask. An AI try-on previews outfits on a person.

Three Alta screens: outfits for a party with the weather, the closet grid by category, and an outfit builder with one row for each category

Alta

Alta's AI generates outfits from your closet for the weather, your schedule or an event you describe, and learns your style as you use it. It shows outfits on an avatar that looks like you and suggests pieces to buy for gaps in your closet.

Three OpenWardrobe screens: the items grid with category filters, a sweatshirt with its wear count, cost per wear and resale value, and an outfit with its wear count

OpenWardrobe

LolaAI suggests outfits from your closet for any occasion and learns from your feedback. Before you buy, it shows how a new piece goes with your clothes, and the paid Style Blueprint adds colours, body shape advice and a style personality.

Three Clueless screens: the closet, today's look with the weather, and a day plan

Clueless

Katire, the AI stylist, answers styling questions using only the pieces in your closet, and the Daily Decision puts together a look for today. A weekly planner builds seven days of outfits from your clothes and the forecast.

Three Pureple screens: the closet by category, outfit collages with a Style Me button, and a piece with its calendar date

Pureple

With Pro, Style Me suggests outfits from your closet for any occasion, and Style this item builds a look around one piece. Instant Outfit Feedback gives tips on a look you photograph or build.

How we compare

  1. We took the 16 apps of the closet app guide and kept the ones whose listings show an AI stylist: a chat, AI outfits from your closet, your colours, or feedback on a photo of your outfit. That left out Whering, Indyx, Stylebook, Google Photos and Smart Closet.
  2. For each app we read its App Store and Google Play listings, text and screenshots, and its maker's website, and marked the 10 features. A feature counts only when one of them shows it.
  3. Listings were read on October 9, 2026. Wearton is not in the stores yet: its row shows the app as it is today.

Questions about closet apps

What is an AI stylist app?

A personalized styling app that uses AI to suggest what to wear from the clothes you own, or to answer your style questions. Some also learn your colours, your body shape or your style first.

Which apps let me chat with an AI stylist?

Wearton (Hooky), Acloset, Fits, Cladwell (Ask Cladwell), Clueless (Katire) and Style DNA. The other apps in this guide make outfits or give feedback without a chat.

Which AI stylist apps find my colours?

Wearton, Acloset, OpenWardrobe, Beauty AI, Cladwell and Style DNA. Wearton and Style DNA read one selfie. Cladwell's store listings say you answer three quick questions, and its website says it uses one daylight photo. The listings of Acloset and Beauty AI say they analyse your colours but not how, and OpenWardrobe's colours are part of its paid Style Blueprint.
